Targeted traffic… the holy grail of all things business. Without it, our online businesses wither and die a painful death. It is the one area that we spend the most time, effort, and money on trying to achieve it.
Driving the almighty customer to your site, with credit card in hand, hungry to devour whatever you’re selling shouldn’t have to be such an exhausting and costly chore.
In fact, it should be an easy task. Well, you’ll be happy to know that it is a lot easier than you previously thought to drive a flood of traffic to your site. Your competition will even help you do it… even if they aren’t aware of it.
The key to this strategy is to piggy back their efforts and then funnel their customers into your site. It’s a relatively painless process that can be achieved in just a few easy steps.
- Join your competitor’s newsletters so you can be among the first to know when they are about to launch a new product. Product launches are usually announced ahead of time which gives you enough time to prepare.
- Once you know what kind of product they intend to launch, you can easily “swipe” many of their benefits, which are usually listed on their sales page (also created ahead of time).
- Gather at least 5 of their best benefits and create your own report with them. If you don’t already have the answers to one of their benefits, take a trip on over to google and key it into their search bar and watch how many different articles come up that have already covered that exact benefit.
- Create a keyword rich title for your report that is directly related to the title of your competitor’s upcoming product. When you’re finished, register your title as a domain name, and upload the new report to your website.
- Gather your competitor’s main keywords for their upcoming launch product and create an adwords campaign for your new report pointing back to your website.
- Create a forum post that asks others to critique the report and allow them giveaway rights to give it to their lists.
Your competitor has already done all of the hefty leg work involved with researching very targeted keywords relating to the product they intend to launch. They have already spent money creating a buzz for the upcoming launch as well. By setting yourself up as mentioned above, you stand to launch your site to page one of Google along side theirs when they finally launch. What more could you ask for?
Within your market related forums there are generally some real heavy hitters. Chances are they have already heard about your competitor’s upcoming product launch and the title of your new report should intrigue them enough to check it out.
If your new report offers value to their readers, they will gladly pass it on to the lists which will have everyone running to your site before your competitor even has the chance to get their product launched.
If you wanted to, once you find out about the upcoming product launch from your competitors, you could even contact them and request a copy in return for a glowing testimonial and a recommendation to your list. Everyone needs testimonials so why would they deny you? Having you recommend their product to your list means more potential sales for them on launch day as well. Besides, your testimonial with a link back to your website is posted on their sales letter for everyone to see which could create even more traffic back to your site, so it becomes a win-win situation for everyone.
Once you have a copy of their new product, go through it with a fine tooth comb. Is there anything that they didn’t explain with absolute clarity? Is there information that they forgot all together? If you can find a way to improve on their product, you can create a report or two covering what they’ve missed or neglected and then offer it as a bonus to everyone who orders through your affiliate link of the original product.
I’m sure if you thought about it, you could come up with a few more ingenious ways to reap the benefits of your competitors hard work in order to draw a steady flood of traffic back to your site which will, in the end create extra sales of your products.
